We all need to be witnessed.
Once upon a time I was a physicist.
In the realm of quantum physics, to observe or predict a quantum phenomenon changes it. This was demonstrated by the double slit experiment, where light traveled through two slits, and whether it acted as a wave or a particle was actually affected by the presence of an electronic detector as the observer. When the light is a wave, it is energy, and the electrons exist in an infinite array of possibilities. When this light is given mindful attention and measured, it’s as if it forces the wave function to collapse and choose to manifest as a particle of light, thus becoming matter.
So why does this matter?
Maybe we all need an observer. And maybe how we see and are seen completely changes our reality. Maybe we should all be the observer we want to be and also surround ourselves with supportive observers who see us the way we need to be seen.
Here at the ashram in Nepal, I am finally feeling what it feels like to truly be seen, and to be deeply seen is to be loved, and I am already starting to see myself differently, and apparently I actually look different.
I have always thought that one of my gifts is as a truth seeker and truth seer, and I am sometimes able to see someone at a soul level, and to see them is to believe in them and to love them. I have given this gift to others before, but I have rarely received it. Until recently. And it is indeed a gift.
And it feels really real to me that ‘happiness is only real when it is shared.’
Guru Aama recently told me that people with alcohol addiction come here for healing, and when I asked her how she helps them, she said she sends them energy with her eyes. I thought she meant she sends them some sort of energetic magic, which I’m sure she also does, but maybe she just meant that she truly sees them and believes in them and loves them.
So look deep into the dark water
And if you can see the beauty
In the reflection
Then look up at the moon
Whose reflection it is
And look to the stars
To know resurrection like this
#Being seen is believing in yourself
